Fresh fruit from Stemilt was incorporated into every course of our meal by Chef Erica Burke of the Volunteer Park Cafe She matched the fruit so beautifully with each and my favorite was definitely the Roasted Butternut and Bartlett Pear Bisque. I could have eaten that all night!
During dinner we were able to hear about the farm, how it began, what they're currently carrying out and where they're headed. They not merely develop delicious apples, but pears and cherries as well. Apple Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies
Produce: Makes about 60 cookies
That old-fashioned oatmeal cookie that we all love updated with the addition of peanut butter plus some chopped apple.
1 cup packed darkish sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cooking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Preheat oven to 375 levels F.
In the bowl of a mixer, cream butter and sugars together, about 4 minutes.
Blend in the peanut butter.
Add the eggs and vanilla and defeat until thoroughly combined.
In a moderate bowl, whisk together the oats, flour, baking natural powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating just until combined.
Peel, primary and dice the apple. Add it to the batter and blend to combine.
Stop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a cooking sheet and bake for 8-11 mins until lightly golden round the edges.
Allow to great on the cooking sheet for a few short minutes before transferring to some cable rack to great completely.
